Middle School Mentoring
During the 2024-2025 school year, 65 middle school students participated in the What I Need Now program (WINN). They received mentoring and academic support from high school students each week, and they had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and receive support with mental health, life skills, and social emotional learning.
87% of participants reported that the WINN program helped them feel equipped to handle challenges
99% of participants reported that they would recommend the program to a friend
Madison, one of the high school mentors, described her experience:
"The end of the year was tough knowing that the 7th graders I worked with the whole school year would be moving on, and I may never see their future success. I am proud of all of them, with some choosing to attend River Bluff to receive additional support in their schooling, others continuing with the sports they love, and [others] joining new activities to put themselves out there. I'll miss this past school year and am so grateful for all the experiences. I am also so excited to see what the students I worked with decide to do with their future."
