Why I was drawn to work with RiseUp Partnership and AmeriCorps

What drew me to Rise Up Partnership was the opportunity to work with students and make a positive difference in the community I grew up in. Since I am currently in college studying social work, I felt that becoming a Promise Fellow would give me valuable experience working directly with young people and supporting them in reaching their goals. I also liked that Rise Up Partnership focuses on building relationships and helping students succeed.

Through this experience, I hope to improve my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. I also want to learn more about working with students from different backgrounds and understanding the challenges they may face. In the future, I hope to work in the social work field, so I believe this experience will help prepare me by giving me hands-on experience supporting others and building meaningful relationships.
