Why I was drawn to work with RiseUp Partnership and AmeriCorps

I come from a background where opportunity is a gift. Every new step is a chance to meet individuals and make connections. Serving for me is giving back to a community that had compassion for my family and I. My community has given me the opportunity to expand my understanding of cultural differences and see a new future where union is possible.

I am a recent graduate from Red Wing High School and currently at RCTC pursuing a career in dental hygiene. I love to listen to music and draw flowers in my sketchbook. In my sophomore year I had the blessing to study a year abroad in Germany, where leadership growth was enhanced. Having a Hispanic background I continue to practice my native language with others. I wish to be of help to those in my community, where resources are making their way to a variety of individuals and new beginnings can be made possible despite our inner challenges.
